As a student who spend lots of time everyday sitting in front of a laptop or holding a cell phone, I think this opinion is serious and practical. And what I found in my real life is that over use of tech may cause mental illness and stress. From Aswathy Das’s analyze about the relationship between mental illness and technology addiction, I understand that the occurrence of internet addiction is 1.6 fold higher on people who is anxiety and stressful. This kind of addiction is untouchable and stealthily exist in daily life. The harm that such addiction brings to us is not only physical but also psychological. Especially we teenagers should pay more attention to our mental health and the control of Internet addiction. I think their analyze has the same view about the technology addiction.
This is a very important topic for me, because I am deeply dependent on the Internet. I didn't realize the seriousness of the problem until I lost my Internet connection when I move to a new house. I record the time that I spend on internet during a day, I found that it took me about 5 hours a day on the internet for both entertainment and work. It is the real condition that teenagers have nowadays. Related to the writer’s opinion, I can found the change of my life by spending more and more time on technology. I become less active and make less friend then before and I also easily get stressful about the thing happening surround me. It is true that “our technology use is affecting our psychological functioning.”(Doreen Dodgen-Magee)

In essence, it is true.
What we learn from school is that technology can connect the world together and our communication is improving, but the reality is that it is destroying our mental health. We are getting anxious and stressful by internet and technology addiction. And the odds of internet addiction occurrence is not the business of age. I can tell that many elementary school students in China has potential addiction on technology nowadays. The same ages started wallow in mobile games and TV programs. It means that the problem of technology addiction may become more serous in the future. My brother is an real example. He is 11. What he most likes and what he chat with me most is gaming and tv. He owns a cell phone starting with the purpose of safety but that cell phone is full of mobile games that he downloaded. What we can do is sparse and in order to reduce their using of Internet I need to reduce mine first.
